The beauty of the Nilkantha flower

Small colorful flowers amidst the green cover of nature always attract people's minds. We see one such eye-catching flower, which is commonly known as 'Durant', 'Nilkantha' or 'Dewti' in Bangladesh. Its English name is Duranta erecta or Golden Dewdrop. Small light purple or lavender-colored flowers bloom on a slender vine-like stem. The green stamens in the middle of the flower and the unopened buds at the bottom of the stem are beautifully visible. The green leafy bushes in its background make the flower brighter. The bouquet of flowers is captured a little closer and clearly. Here, the arrangement of the five-petaled flowers and the background of the dense green leaves of the tree create a calm and gentle look of nature.

This flowering plant is basically an evergreen shrub. It is widely used as a garden beautification or boundary wall. This tree blooms more or less throughout the year, but its appearance opens up more in the monsoon and autumn. After flowering, this tree bears small golden fruits, which are very attractive to look at.
