My first blog / 1 year in Korea...
My South Korean adventures
I’ve been meaning for sometime to start a blog on my life in South Korea and using steemit as a medium to do so. Having moved here nearly 3 weeks ago, finally settled, I’ve time to spare.
So here goes….
The start of my trip was auspicious, on arrival at the airport we found out we had been upgraded on our London to Seoul BA flight, as they had overbooked. NICE!!! Our first time flying long haul in Business class. We felt like royalty! =D
Unlimited booze, that I never got to take advantage of, as I fell asleep; something I never do when flying. Typical.
The missus also dozed off…
Bubbly and OJ
Must admit, was very comfortable, but frankly the food was not much different from cattle class, and would imagine someone who’d paid for it, being seriously disappointed.
On arrival found out that my Monzo card doesn’t work in most Korean shops… so had to rely on my trusted Mastercard.
Now one of the main reasons for coming to live in South Korea for a year, is that I need to seriously get my teeth sorted out. As I have to have 5 extractions, regrow bone, have 8 implants and other minor improvements, for a mouth that was heavily neglected when I was young.
xray of my messed up mouth. Looks terrible
My wife (who is Korean) has a brother in law who works for one of the top dental practices in Daegu.
Dental practice reception
Discounts abound, so here I am (I also think UK London dentists suck, unless you pay through the nose).
Straight off the plane, bus to Daegu and first tooth extracted. Tired and not even able to have a beer.
I hope you enjoyed this mini intro (assuming anyone read this lol). Trying to balance text and images so not just a wall of text. Feedback seriously appreciated.
More to follow, likely going to focus on hikes, food and eventually fishing for Bass....
PS: upvote, follow and all the usual jazz!
Welcome @chaomos looking good in that plane damn!
Not likely to experience it again, being on a budget, but felt good. Living the life for a day lol
Well but that is good! :) sometimes you should do something a little bit crazy haha :P
Nice post, sorry for the shitty upvote, my VP is low and not recovering very fast. I have submitted for our curation post through the @asapers, we should have it out tonight/tomorrow. :D
I found the post through @asapers. Will also be upvoting tomorrow (lean VP tonight). Good find. Interesting blog.

I am looking forward to 'visiting South Korea in your adventures to follow, @mirrors
Hi @chaomos! Congrats on your blogging success! I am here through the @asapers. Keep up the great blogs. Sorry to hear about your teeth issues. I am nursing bad teeth too though mine is the result of a motor vehicle accident. It's been challenging to find a trustworthy dentist in Canada too unfortunately. And, it's so crazy expensive. Being self employed and having no insurance does not help 🙊 Best wishes to you on your stay in South Korea. I hope your dental work goes really well.
Welcome to Steemit @chaomos!
I wish you much success and hope you find Steemit to be as rewarding and informative as I have.

Can't wait to hear more about your adventures in Korea. Hoping you get all your dental work sorted! Dental pain is the worst!
Certainly is. Today having more work done.
Welcome to Steemit @chaomos
I hope to have the opportunity to know South Korea and its surrounding areas some day, I have always thought that it is an interesting and colorful country. Good luck with the arrangement of your teeth.
I wish you a wonderful development on the Platform.
Thanks @pialejoana, thanks for the good wishes. Defo looking forward to discovering more of the area. So far amazing experience.
Wow, cool introduction. Well welcome to Steemit. You seem to have the post structure thing handled like a natural so looking forward to your future content. If at any point you need a helping hand or just a new post resteemed to help increase its exposure give me a shout. I founded and run an initiative here on Steemit called @newbieresteemday. We are non profit and focused on helping new members get started by helping to increase post exposure or give advice. Just give me a shout if you need a hand and best of luck on Steemit. :)
Thanks for the positive feedback. I hope I can keep the momentum going and build a small following. I certainly could do with help in building that foundation and resteems to relevant people would go a long way in achieving that. Help is always appreciated :)
Seems like a very good reason to travel! :) Good luck with the dental procedures and hope you have a great time touring and enjoying Korea!
Cheers @amritadeva. As more teeth are being removed, my meal options dwindling. Korea has amazing meat dishes, but soon will be all veggies. Then I have to wait up to 6 months before the bone is strong enough for the implants.
At least will loose lots of weight!!
Wow! Sounds like serious business. Wishing you the best!
