So many self help books out there
Many know that the industry of self helps is flooded with books. This might be because people understand that today possibly more than ever, we are filled with internal conflicts. This could be growth, this could be a negative sign, but no doubt its a shift of tides.
Sometimes my words are not welcome. I tend to be a bit too honest for sensible minds, but I'm one that values honesty above other things and prefers it, even if it can be painful at the time. The truth is that this need, this social need has also given rise to a lot of charlatans. Gurus, masters, teachers, most of the time self proclaimed that claim they know the truth, they know they way.
Of course not all teachers are the same, and I'm sure there are plenty of books that are excellent for one's mind and soul. However, I'm trying to be honest about how I perceive most of them to operate. They seem to be written as to provide a partial truth, that will be revealed later on the next book or on the next chapter, or on the public speech you must attend.
I'm thinking about this today because I received one of those special invitations today, one of those - "Take control of your life" seminars. Sometimes I forget they are so profitable, so present that the industry is the strongest it has ever been.
If you feel compelled to go, if you want to learn, do so. But know this, no one can give you truth, that is only for you to discover.

So true, I have gone through several seminars, at the end it's always been the same...
You're Steemit's giant @gentlebot.
Most welcome...
Wow thanks! Let me check that out.
“...But know this, no one can give you truth, that is only for you to discover.“
So true! Sometimes we get lost looking “out there” for solutions that can only come from the inside. Seminars and books can provide tools and inspiration, but ultimately doing the work is your personally responsibility. No one can fix you but you. (Not you personally, but you know...oneself.)
Great post 👌🏼
Its almost as if this should be on a frame, right?
Totally! May have to put that on my wall, now that you mention it 🤔
I loved it when you said "no one can give you truth, that is only for you to discover"
Personally I feel truth is in the individual, what we strive to do is find the motivation to dig them out.
Im not really a fan of 21st century self development books, like you said, most just tell half truths.
I still prefer those good old books that carry ideas which are still applicable to our age.
Thanks for sharing.
Libros de auto-ayuda, son lecturas muy buenas que ayudan a las personas a mejorar en cuanto a carácter y pensamiento, gracias por compartir.
You're absolutely spot on @chbartist. I started filtering a lot of financial, spiritual and emotional advice I get when I realized many people didn't practice whet they preached, they only profited from the misery of others.
It's unfortunate but as long as there is a void, there will always be charlatans
Good one @empress-eremmy. They really do profit from the misery of others.
a book is a window of insight for us, but not all can be a good lesson. there are books that point us in the wrong direction, but certainly we have to read it so we know which book we can make lessons for us can be more developed, happy to read you may get the truth
thanks for the upvote buddy! followed!
