I Embark on a Grand Adventure next Week and It Could Have Only Been Done with Your Support.steemCreated with Sketch.

Next Wednesday I will start my journey to what is known as the Electric Forest. This is something that I would typically not do nor have the funds to achieve if not for some major recent events in my life and the funds I gained from my steemit endeavors.

To begin with, my long term girlfriend broke up with me and gave a month to move out. We have a child together and have been in a relationship for the better part of three years. To say the least it was really hard to deal with and I am still processing a lot. She had mentioned not being happy for some time and some warning signs were there, my optimism had me hoping it would eventually work itself out. Reality proved otherwise, though not a horrible break up in the history of the world but a break up indeed.

No cheating or violence took place and we are keeping things civil for the children involved. For now that is the main priority as far as I am concerned and putting my own feelings aside for that has been a focus. Someone told me shortly after the shoe fell that when one door closes another opens, for me the door opening is the Electric Forest.

If you are unaware it is a three day music festival set in the woods of Michigan and prides itself on not only bringing the best music but also top notch performers. This is all in an effort to transform the surrounding environment into a surreal utopia that in turn with transform the visitors. I have been wanting to attend for several years and jumped at the chance when a friend mentioned having a ticket for sale.

At first I scoffed and decided the funds were not available for such a pricey adventure. But soon realized my steemit account value would more than cover the whole trip after only a single power down. My intention was to wait until November to cash out when all the cool developments are release but this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I may never have again. Not looking forward to doing the math on how much the trip will really cost me when steem moons at the end of the year, oof.

Got my ticket/wristband yesterday and have been going over the list of everything I will need for the journey. If you have never been on a festival adventure it can be taxing if unprepared, but that is where the excitement lies. I have seen many succumb to the adversity and not fair so well, others have triumphed. Personally as in life I tend to not focus so much on an expectation one way or the other and accept the scenario as it unfolds in front of me. Another solid plan is to surround yourself with good company, I have seen many groups get shattered to bits by the stress of survival with one or more toxic individuals weighing things down. For this trip I will be a lone wolf in a pack of similar individuals with helping hands but no dependents.

If I were to take anyone with me I would feel responsible for that individuals well being and good time. This can make for a serious headache depending on the person. This has gone both ways for me in the past and I tend to avoid it for the most part.

I will be taking part in a grand social experiment for this trip and have created snapcode shirts to test out. Not sure if any of you are familiar with snapchat but it is quickly becoming my preferred social network platform behind steemit of course. With the snapcode shirt all a new friend will need to do is point their camera at my shirt in the app and it will automatically add me to their feed. Hands down the easiest and coolest way to share contact info I have ever come across, literally could not be easier to make a life long connection in moments.

If you are on snapchat feel free to scan the above, will be a cool feed next weekend I promise!

A special thanks to all of you for making this dream possible, will be documenting everything for a recap post when I get back.

Much Love, Cody
