8 Great Lessons to Learn from the Hen
• The hen always lay more eggs before sitting on them. This is an act of good planning. Before you start working towards a particular goal and you should have a good plan in place. As the saying goes failing to plan means planning to fail.
• She is very careful when sitting on its eggs to avoid cracking them. She ensures a good movement in order not to destroy any of the eggs. This is discipline. If you are not discipline enough you will end destroying a great vision. Don't just live anyhow or do anything that could be destructive to your goals, be disciplined.
• The hen knows too much weight will destroy its eggs when she sits on it so she intentionally loses weight by reducing feeding. This is sacrifice. In the process of achieving your goals you will have to make many scarifices, sometimes you have to reduce how you spend money, reduce the time you spend with friends, family and for other activities.
• To the hen all eggs are the same, she can sit on another eggs from a different bird or hen. This is indiscrimination. You are not going to meet the same people in life but different people, learn to relate well with anyone you meet. You will find youself in an environement with different people from different races, learn to accept them and welcome their views.
• The hen always sit on its egg for twenty days before hatching them. This is faith and hope. They are the two most important things you will need to live on this earth. You will need to have faith in your dreams and hope that someday you will accomplish them. The things we see in our world today came because people had faith that they could bring them into reality. Be patient, have faith in yourself in and your dreams and with hope it will surely come to pass.
• The hen is able to detect unfertilised eggs and rotten eggs, abandons them and focus on the good ones. This is sensitivity. You should detcet bad habits on time and do away with they could be an impediment to reaching your goals.
• The hen is very careful with predators and ensures no one goes near its chicks. This is protection. You should always protect your valuables.
• Until the chicks are matured she never leaves them but stay close with them. This is mentorship. Always associate with people who are ahead of you in life and learn from them. Don't be in a hurry to work things out on your own, stay close to someone who can mentor you.
