Will ~You~ Help Downsize DC Free Ross Ulbricht?
“Tolerance implies no lack of commitment to one's own beliefs. Rather it condemns the oppression or persecution of others.”
– John F. Kennedy –
Who is Ross Ulbricht?
Do you know enough to care about Ross and about the seminal issues his case represents? If not, you can learn much about him at the website his family maintains. They, along with many supporters, are seeking to reverse the egregiously oppressive actions of the federal government that has unjustly incarcerated Ross for life.

You may already be familiar with Ross, but not yet with Downsize DC.

What is Downsize DC?
Downsize DC is a political action organization, founded by a couple of (in my not so humble opinion) freakin' geniuses. As its name suggests, Downsize DC is working toward reducing the power of our oppressive central government.
I've been following their activities for many years now, and supporting what I consider to be the best of them.
Help end this oppression.

How will Downsize DC help Ross?
Downsize DC has enjoyed considerable success in presenting amicus curiae ("friend of the court") briefs before the Supreme Court of the United States. Downsize DC today announced that they are working on a brief that could potentially have a great impact on the Supreme Court, leading to a release or a reduction in Ross's sentence. By extension, this would mean a decrease in the judicial abuse of all Americans. You can read about their outstanding effort here:
Please visit the Downsize DC blog, read the details of the #FreeRoss brief, and do what you are able to do to support them.
In the past, I've supported other Downsize DC Supreme Court briefs and have been very pleased with their successes. I can think of very few other actions you might take that would be as effective toward helping Ross. These Downsize DC guys are legal geniuses, and they have a track record of knowing how to influence the Supreme Court for the good of us all.

Let's do what we can to help free Ross. I really think that supporting the Downsize DC brief will leverage our funds to the max.

You are why I'm here on Steemit!
I have very eclectic interests and hope, over time, to write about them all.
Downsize DC is the best ... for a bunch of statists.
Agreed.
As a post-statist myself, I still support Downsize DC from time to time when our goals are in alignment.
Generally speaking, by this I mean anything that will help limit or reduce the power of the state in an effective way. I also vote occasionally, based on the same theory. My votes against increases in taxes, and against increases in state power, have some limited meaning (when they are honestly tallied, which is of course questionable).
And so, in this instance, I see them working quite effectively to seek to reverse an abuse of state power.
The truth is that the amount/percentage of time or funds I spend on this is quite small, but I consider it resistance rather than participation.
Ross is a hero and a political prisoner! I salute Downsize DC for having his back!
Agreed on both counts.
I have seen Downsize DC's briefs to the court succeed before, and was encouraged and hopeful when I heard that they are working on Ross's case.
Downsize DC seems to have a way of leveraging very modest amounts of $$$ to great effect.
Downsize DC becomes personal when you realise the bulk of public officials derive their living from American tax dollars.
"American tax dollars" == "stolen money."
The smaller DC, the better for Americans.
Did you join this or contributed to this @creatr. It sounds like a worthy cause.
Yes, I have been a member of Downsize DC for a long time; however, see my reply to @inertia for a little further clarification of my position.
Yes, I have strongly supported seeking the release of Ross, and intend to continue to do so.
for me Ross is a hero , his life is a beacon of light for me
Definitely. Thanks for commenting.
