Praising God - My Family is Unharmed!

in #life7 years ago

The family vehicle is a totally different story!

Saturday was a busy day with the normal farm chores and the Daddykirbs Saturday Morning Live Show. I ran home to be with Luke and my wife ran out to take my daughter to her theater class.

I was hanging out with Luke that morning because he was finishing up his massage therapy. My back, shoulders and neck have been holding a lot of stress, so the therapist was going to give me a 30 minute massage to help elevate some pain. The table was set up and I was prepared. About 5 minutes into a great massage my wife called...

I need you to help!

She said in a very frantic voice!

Immediately I jumped off the table and put a shirt on. She had been in an accident.

Of course, my number one concern was to know if they were ok. Mamakirbs ( @findingjoy ) was all shaken up and complaining of a lot of pain in her neck. My daughter @maggiegrace was fine. She said she was not experiencing any pain or discomfort at all. Praise God!

I think Mamakirbs was crying more for the loss of her baby. The family Suburban was loved much! This vehicle was paid off and had taken our family on a lot of adventures. It's true, she was getting older and accumulating a lot of mileage, but still kicking. It is very likely that there is no repairing her at this point. It's sad... kinda like the end of an era.

After all the belongings were transferred from the Suburban to my truck we drove to the ER. Even though my daughter claimed to be ok I still wanted her to be checked out. The exam was thorough and both checked out fine. Mamakirbs neck had been jarred pretty good, but there was no serious damage done. She will be sore for a few days, but I'm so grateful that both are alive to tell the story!

Your family is safe and well which is what matters. Another vehicle can be found on a budget, just might require some patience.

My wife is the queen of patience when it comes to shopping! She is very wise and frugal.

Glad to know they are all ok! Car can be replaced the people in it not... Sharing for others to learn that everyone is ok...

Yes! I'm so grateful!

So thankful that God looks after us, even when other humans are careless. Praise Him that there was so little damage. Hope @findingjoy and @maggiegrace are both doing well and will have no real problems from this mishap.

Thank you Kate :)

Yes, thanks God, both are ok. ☝

Thank you :)

Glad that everyone is ok! You'd be surprised at how easy those GM trucks can be fixed up though. It might need new fenders and a hood and a front grill part or two. But those are super easy on those trucks. I've seen far worse damages done to one and we were still able to pull it straight. Didn't even have to take it into a shop to pull the kink out of it.

I'm guessing that because of the age and mileage that the cost of repairs is too high... but I might be wrong :)

True. The important thing is that everyone is made it back home, even if the truck didn't. And if it does get put to pasture, you can all pick out a new ride. I know how she feels about the ol truck though. We have a Tahoe of the same vintage. 300k on it and it's still kickin. Granted, it's headed to the shop for wheel bearings and brake lines soon. Still a great family ride.

They are great trucks!

Thankfully they are all OK, cars can be replaced, people can't.

True! I'm so grateful they are ok. Now, however... the "hassle" of trying to find a family vehicle that fits our budget LOL.

Glad to see everyone is ok. It pays off to have a bigger vehicle when something like this happens. It is indeed scary.
Should be able to buff out those scratches 😜😜

Yeah, you think it'll buff out? LOL

Duct tape and a little bondo she will be good to go. LOL Is all the fluid on the ground from your suburban? That little blue car doesn’t look too good! Hopefully they can get your fixed in a timely manner.

There were no fluids on the ground.

I saw the puddle on the right thought that was some fluids of some sort. Well that’s a good sign.

Thanks God nothing happen, they are well.

Really glad to know that the family is safe. Material things come in last. It was probably a good thing that she was driving a beast of a Suburban. Heavy vehicle, better protection for occupants. A truck can be replaced, people can't.

I'm so sorry to hear that.
Thank goodness your people are ok.
