I Found This Pencil

Yes I found this pencil and decided I would capture it. From it's look the eraser has been used a bit and it seems newly sharpened.

Yesterday I was talking to one of the guys and he asked me what I was going to write about. I told him I was going to write about a pencil and I showed him the picture.

Then, he asked me how come I don't write about something more exotic. He mentioned that exotic writing sells more.

He thought a pencil would be too mundane. Really? Too mundane? There were times when a pencil was just what I needed.

When I am away from my computer, but still want to write all I need is some paper and something to write with. Well, can't you write something with a pencil?

Unlike a pen you can even write on the ceiling and your writing would still be readable.

Ever notice that the word pen is embedded in the word pencil? It can be the perfect writing tool.

Do you know how to sharpen a pencil without a pencil sharpener? Well, just walk up to a stone or some cement and rub the pencil in an angle away from the lead.

Of course if you had a knife that would even work better.

Did you know that once you write something with your pencil it is written. That sounds pretty powerful, It is written.

When Satan tried to tempt Jesus, Jesus would use that which was written. Even Satan knows the power of that which is written.

So I guess a little child lost this pencil cause of the use of the eraser. When I was a kid I would wear out most of the eraser.

Well when I was young I made a lot of mistakes. Now days if I make a mistake I would just draw a line through the mistake.

Notice on the pencil that there are no teeth marks. I remember students would bite their pencils.

I never really got into that bad habit. I do remember as a kid borrowing a pencil from a girl and she really bit into her pencil. She must have had some stress.

Also I remember when I was really young I would walk to the pharmacy store to buy a pencil. I think they were about 5 cents in those days.

Can you imagine buying a single pencil? Now days if I need to buy a pencil I would have to buy a pack of 10 pencils for a dollar at a dollar store. I don't know anywhere that I can buy a single pencil.

I just read where pencils were in mass production back in 1662 in Germany. Then in the United States there was a manufacturer that made wood pencils in 1812.

Hey, 1812. The United States had something to do with a war in 1812 called the War of 1812. When I look into it that war was about hemp. Well, they didn't teach me that in school I had to learn that on my own.

So the pencil was not only used to write, but also to draw. How many industries was started out with a thought, something to draw on and a pencil?

So here we are, me, writing about a pencil and you, reading about a pencil. You might be wondering, Did I take the pencil? No I only took it's picture.

Someone will come along and will need that pencil so I just left it there where I found it.
