I usually mow my mom's front and back lawn with my old mower. Yes it is old and I did buy it brand new a long time ago for I think a hundred dollars at the time.

It has broken down a few times, but I found an old man that is a retired master mechanic of small engines that likes to make money on the side by fixing lawn mowers.

For me I just give him thirty dollars and for that amount of money he fixes my lawn mower and that includes the parts. Of course the parts he uses may be used parts, but that is OK with me.

How do I know that my mower is 41 years old? Well there is a plate that says Manufacturers date 3378. Well that means March 3, 1978. I do remember buying it somewhere in the 80's though.

I remember buying it from a Discount store, so that makes sense to me since this mower was probably sitting in a warehouse before I bought it.

The old man, the master mechanic said that the Tecumseh engine that my mower has is really a good engine. That is probably why it lasted this long. They don't even make the Tecumseh engine anymore. You can still buy parts for it though online.

Now that I remember it, when I was a kid my dad bought me a Montgomery Ward mini bike and the engine that it had was a Tecumseh engine. I think that was when I was a 7th or 8th greater. So that was around 1971 or 1972.

That mini bike that I had did have a good engine in it.

Hey, I remember that the Montgomery Ward store when out of business. So I looked it up, The store went out of business in 2000. Then I just read that they opened up an online business in 2004. So I guess Montgomery Ward is still in business.

I didn't even know that. I wonder if it is a Mandela Effect thing or not.

So let's get back to my old mower, God willing I will be using this mower for many years to come.
