Tatsulok / Triangle | Peace Fantasy
Hello there! How's everyone doing? How's Wednesday, the middle of the week? Few more days before weekends.
If you will ask me, I am good and excited for my birthday... hmmn.
Well, this post is not about my upcoming birthday or about Wednesday or any day. But more of the daily living of each and everyone.
While on my way home a little while ago I decided to listen to some local music, and I choose the band called Bamboo. This band has made their name for more than 10 years before being disbanded about 3 years ago. Well, at first, the band compositions were 4 great names in rock music in the Philippines back in the days who are then successful already.

Most of their music tackles about social life in the Philippines, just like the song that I listened to. The sone called "Tatsulok" or triangle in English.
Part of the lyrics has caught my attention which I just realized today after listening to the song for years and years.
Tulad ng dukha, nailagay mo sa tuktok
Like the poor, put them on top
The song talks about the biggest problem in the Philippines wherein rich people can take control of the justice. Justice that supposed to neutral in weighing the cases based on evidence and point of views of different people. Sadly, if a poor one got troubled with the rich one, no matter what the real story is, the poor one will have a mindset of not pursuing the case anymore because the rich one will surely win the case. As they can spend more than the poor one.
Triangle represents poor at the bottom because of its population that is bigger than those rich people and has the power to control of things. They are on top of the triangle.

So this is the common story being heard from Higher vs Lower Class' cases. Even movies and series are showing it. Actually, a rich-guy-falling-in-love-with-poor-woman kind of a movie is always a hit in the Philippines.
And years and years back until now, masses or those unfortunate in living has been fighting for what we believe that Justice is blindfolded because it shouldn't be choosing side. And that is supposed to happen but sadly, it is not.
As a result, people in low classes are creating a rebellion, they are fighting for their right. And most of the time resulted in unwanted sceneries. And because of this unsettled talks, people hold guns targetting the top, trying to turn around the "triangle" by force. Through war.
Which in fact, these people are just being triggered by such slogans that are being misunderstood.
The song is calling a Boy, a young one to pursue, studies maybe. Do their best while they are young. And once they reach the top of the triangle, make a change.
But because of wrong understanding, Peace becomes just a fantasy.

Which in fact we can live in peace. If only those on top of the triangle can only listen to the voices of the people at the bottom, and not use them to fight against each other on top.
