Sorry to hear you lost the money, it is very frustrating when these things happen.
I lost 50 € at the airport once; I was going to buy some food and a book, so I took it from my travel wallet and put it in my pocket... and then it was gone! No food, no book... and I needed the rest I had for a taxi at my destination.
It's truly unfortunate. I lost them too; they were work money, so they were deducted from my salary. It's sad.
