A way to deal with unpredictability
Understanding and navigating unpredictability is pivotal in life as it often presents us with uncomfortable challenges that test our resilience and adaptability. While resistance may initially be a natural response to uncertain situations, it is through embracing unpredictability that we nurture personal growth and glean valuable experiences that shape our perspectives.
Each instance of unpredictability, whether it be facing adversity, making tough decisions, or venturing into the unknown, serves as a profound opportunity for introspection and learning.
By acknowledging unpredictability as a teacher, we can derive meaningful insights and wisdom from even the most trying circumstances, reinforcing the notion that there is always a lesson to be gleaned amidst the uncertainties we encounter.
Ultimately, viewing unpredictability as a catalyst for personal development and self-discovery empowers us to confront challenges with a newfound sense of purpose and resilience, guiding us towards a deeper understanding of our values, actions, and the importance of adaptability in life's ever-changing landscape.
Unpredictability is for many an uncomfortable and difficult journey that one must learn to face. Resistance is a part of life. We cannot avoid the fact that sometimes we have to continue through something we do not know the outcome of, but that is where we grow and form personal experiences that we learn from.
We may as well learn to understand that when we face hard work or have to make difficult decisions, that unpredictability can teach us something no matter what. No matter how much resistance we face, there will always be a moral at the end of the tunnel.
Unpredictability can find our purpose if we actively try to be present with what we do and ask questions about what we don't know. If we don't have a purpose to begin with, but start working in a company and gradually ask ourselves why we are where we are and what our actions do to us, then we awaken an understanding of our norms and values.
For example, if you start working somewhere and you think your colleagues are super cool and understand the details of what your actions do, then you start to form some norms and values. In this case, it could be that you started working at a café and think it is important to have good colleagues and an understanding of what good service is.
It is important to emphasize that there will always be unpredictability in our lives. No matter how much we try to control our everyday lives and lives, unpredictable situations will always arise.
It may be that you lose someone close to you, you get fired, or you are struck by illness, etc. Here it is important to understand that anything can happen and that you are ready to adapt to the unknown that we will encounter at different periods in our lives.
As in the figure on the right, you can measure your readiness to adapt based on these four factors. You can measure how you will handle changes that occur by balancing them around. The goal is to reach the middle by reflecting on your tendencies and how they affect you when you encounter something unpredictable.
