Intro to Aggro Yoga - Left Hand Path Meditations

They are two modes of reality in which our consciousness interacts with; the external world & the internal world. In our waking life we filter our total Self in order to coexist with the Other under predefined set of terms, i.e. cultural norms. Our internal world is dramatically different, seemingly unpredictable and ineffable. These two worlds were not created by the Self, but rather we came into being into these two modes of existence. The ideal of Yoga is the liberation of the Self beyond these two modes. In practice Yoga is the amalgamation of mind, body and being (or spirit, if you prefer). The objective in the practice of Yoga is to raise the conscious mind above our everyday experience.

The Left Hand Path(LHP) is an archetype which denotes a solitary journey that goes against social conventions.

The LHP is not the worship of darkness or the conjuring of negative energies; however, to some misguided individuals this is their path.

To find the true Self one must journey alone into the chaotic darkness of our inner-being. The outer world distracts us from obtaining this goal, and beguiles the Self into conformity. Usually, negative emotions are seen as obstacles to self-development instead of sign post towards our true path. Anger, anxiety and depression are alarm bells which relay intimate information about our journey into self-initiation. In moments of quiet meditation we can realize the deeper meanings of these clues.

AGGRO YOGA

In general, Yoga is used as a tool to resolve counterproductive emotions. Some practitioners may do Yoga in communion with others with purpose of raising positivity and awareness. By no means am I implying that this approach to Yoga is misguided, incorrect or counterproductive; everything has its place.

Aggressive Yoga, or angry yoga, is a thematic alternative to the common practice of Yoga. AggroYoga is practiced alone in darkness with aggressive, angry or dark ambient music in the background. The objective is to embrace anger, sadness and misanthropy so as to intimate the bigger picture... "What role do I play?" "What does this pent up anger say about my Self?" "What is my sadness alerting me to?"

This alternative practice may not be for the whole mass of people. This information is intended for any individual willing to to deviate from the current norm.
