Communal Living: The Why

We are living in a world where everything we do is increasingly regulated. Our health, mental development, freedom to pursue happiness, and liberty. Every year new legislation is passed that takes away just a little more of the freedoms that make our lives good. The large area of health has some of the most vile examples of government overreach. In the US they have made milk (a simple and healthy beverage) illegal, mandated food preparation that makes it useless nutritionally, and allowed/encouraged chemical companies to design various compounds for us to eat with little testing beforehand.

As many have said, if these laws were imposed on us by a foreign nation, it would be considered an act of war. And as individuals this is the only logical way to understand it. We are at war with those that seek to control us. They are engaging us physically and psychologically. Twisting our food supply to weaken, confuse, and destroy us. For those of us with families the threat is all the more potent.

And so this leads us to the obvious question. What do we do? The answers to this are many and varied. From understanding their intentions to taking so many supplements, no poison in our food can kill us But this is a nuanced thing, every situation is different, and we all have good reasons to take different approaches. And I believe it starts with by working together.

On the surface the ideal of a commune - people living together for mutual support - seems like a beautiful way to shield ourselves from some of life's difficulties. Many that have attempted this ideal have failed. Some have been successful. But in the end is it worth it?
