Vlog 282: Dporn funds their project by utilizing an asset on BitShares.
The first time I saw a project on the steem blockchain use a created asset on bitshares to fund a project was ZAPPL.
I bought 1% of the assets back then to support ZAPPL and as an investment.
At the time I thought they were shares in the ZAPPL company but it turned out that it was just a loan that they will buy back at some point. (my own fault I should have read better).
But still, they used the money and build this: https://zappl.com/! Very cool!
Now, Dporn is doing something similar and have been doing for a while but I missed it.
They also created an asset on bitshares called PORND. here.
But this time it's not a loan.

I went to their discord today and ask them how the asset is working out for them.
They confirmed it's the main way the project is funded.
How cool is that!

This is huge in helping block chain tech to bring even more awarness of block chain to the population.
Dporn is paying out 90 % to the stake holders and users is really a good concept. Porn industry is a huge market .

Awsome idea for the funding! Thx for sharing! Great Content as always! What do you think of Vice Industry Token? I did not invest in the ICO simply because they wanted to much money in the ICO! And the Team had a lack of dev in my opinion... I'm keeping an eye on them and thinking about investing since the token is now half the price it was in ICO ... Might be intersting to invest at some point...
I probably would have invested if they went with the SMT route but they forked the blockchain instead. I'm not investing but I'm following it with interest and wish them all the best.

Appics will utilize an SMT for sure when they come out. dporn is not 100% sure yet. This asset is on BitShares.
If you fork the blockchain you will have to run the blockchain yourself (including servers, witnesses etc..) It's a lot of hassle and work but you have full control I guess.
If you just want to create a token and have no interest in maintaining a blockchain an SMT is the way to go for a project/community I believe.

While i'm not that big into porn I do see the value in a decentralised porn distribution platform. many of the women that do turn to porn are marginalised and are naive when it comes to market value and demand for their content they are exploited and these websites and production houses are reaping the benefits of this cheap labour and dictating the price and going rate for actors and actresses
By allowing these people who want to produce this content in their own environment on their own terms and compete for a fair share of the market without a middle man could really go a long way in reducing the horror stories we've seen plaguing this industry

Not many people feel comfortable talking about d-porn or porn itself. Many are shy to talk about it openly. However, this profession has been around for thousands of years and this could be one of the best investments after-all.
If that’s true, it sounds fair and very profitable for everyone, which is what everyone wants.
Another project trying to reward the content creators, this time in an industry that is very big and very particular that has success all over the world.
It´s very interesting to see the way they approached their financing tactic, let's see what they can do in this area.
Zappl is one of the projects that it growing slowly and feel that many people are not aware of it yet. Same with DPorn right now. It will take sometime until they grow .
