Yes, I agree. Rambo and Arnold were "male" cliches too, I suppose. However, those respective trailers never sought to having to constantly remind us of that fact. And the "helpless screaming female victim" model is long gone from our screens.

As long as male heroes continue to dominate the big screen, I'm fine with a few new kick-ass heroines to carry the cliches alongside them. Maybe "trope" is the word, and as long as Hollywood doesn't pound us over the head with new (politically correct?) tropes, it's all good. That TV show of the 1970s/80s, Wonder Woman, and Bionic Woman... I was enthralled. But Earth Kitt as Cat Woman ruled. What a voice!

Nicely said. I also loved the Wonder Woman television series. The good old days when you could express yourself freely without fear of scrutiny or condemnation.
