Reducing health risks caused by air pollution has become a matter of utmost urgency in the World!
According to the World Health Organization, poor air quality causes 7 million premature deaths every year, making it the planet’s largest single environmental health risk.
A bunch of scientists, doctors and engineers from IIT, AIIMS, and Stanford University developed a wearable innovation that can protect you from air pollution.
The nasal wearable device can restrict the entry of pollutants into lungs. The user-friendly nasal filter use the Active Molecular Technology that can efficiently filter PM 2.5, PM 10 and harmful gases with minimal breathing resistance.
The tiny product, around 2 cm in size, does not need washing or cleaning either and has an use-and-throw component. As of now, the device is available only for children aged 8 to 14.
It is big opportunity if commercially available at affordable prices. Most of our cities have air pollution problems.
Natural filtration by hairs n mucus in nostrils do the work. but increased percentage of pollution, less hair n less mucus, asthamatic allergies need further filtration.
Persapien has also backed up Airlens with a support-and-feedback mobile app — called Airlens Data —that assesses the amount of protection achieved. This is done through an Air Quality Data System that informs users about the real-time quality of air in their immediate environment.
Airlen’s purification efficiency has also been tested through independent NABL certified labs, with the results showing that the device effectively purifies the air to the safe levels as recommended by regulatory bodies.
Congratulation to the team Shashi Ranjan, Debayan Saha, Yogesh Agarwal, Akanksha Gupta and Harsh Sheth.
