In advanced adulthood, physical and psychological abilities are rapidly decreased, so that the individual is often dependent on others. Insecurity arises because of economic factors that cause changes in the pattern of his life.

Thus, adult education is an education intended for adults in their community, so that they can develop skills, enrich knowledge, develop skills, improve the qualifications of techniques and professions they have, acquire new ways and change attitudes and behaviors.
Adult education is also called Andragogy is the process to involve adult learners into a learning experience structure. The term was originally used by Alexander Kapp, an educator from Germany, in 1833, and later developed into an adult education theory by educator of the United States, Malcolm Knowles.
Andradogy comes from the Greek aner meaning adult, and agogus means to lead. Another term that is often used as a comparison is the pedagogy that is drawn from the word paid means the child and agogus means to lead. So literally pedagogy means art and knowledge of teaching children. Therefore, pedagogy means art or knowledge of teaching the child so when using the term pedagogy for adults is clearly less precise, because it contains contradictory meanings.
