Baking soda is a refining salt (bicarbonate) that you can use for many purposes.  Baking soda has a healthy effect on your skin, it helps to acidify your body, it is a cleaning agent and it kills bacteria that can cause nasty airs.

So where can baking soda be used for?
  1. It helps gainst burned skin. With baking soda you can calm the skin. You need to mix the soda with water and put the mixture with a washcloth on the sun burned skin. Also, according to the American Academy of Dermalotology, baking soda helps with itchy insect bites, bees stings and rashes. Baking soda neutralizes the irritating skin and restores the pH.
  2. You can freshen up silver jewelry  that became dull with baking soda. For this you need to pour water, which has just not reached the boiling point, into a small bowl and add the jewelry. Then you need to add a tablespoon of baking soda and a sheet of aluminum foil.  Then turn the jewelry around so that they all make contact with the aluminum foil. Rinse the jewelry under the tap and rub it dry with a soft cloth.
  3. You can remove blood stains  with it.  Leave a stained cloth for a few hours in a bowl of cold water to which baking soda has been added. Then wash the fabric in the way you are used to and the stain will be gone.
  4. It can transform colored nails  in normal nails  Colored nails make your hands look older. You can make them nice with a paste of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Rub this with a brush underneath and on your nails. Leave a few minutes and rinse under the tap.
  5. You can even make your teeth a bit whiter with baking soda! Just mix some lemon juice with baking soda and brush your teeth, the same way like you normally do.
  6. Let your pores disappear. put a teaspoon of salt on a plate, stirr it and lubricate it on your nose, and carefully cover the nostrils with the mixture and then you need to leave for 5 minutes. Capture and then gently massage your nose and wash your nose with warm water. End up with cold so that the pores get smaller and they are gone.
  7. You can also wash your hair with baking soda. If you want to try this you should mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 1 coffee cup of water and pour it over your head as a shampoo (during the shower).  You need to mix well, allow 1 minute to drain and rinse. Use a little vinegar instead of conditioner to make your hair smooth and shiny!!

There are many more things you can do with baking soda, just look on the internet and you will find amazing stuff.

Nice one! You are disseminating vital information to humankind here. I've been washing my hair with bicarb for years now, and quite often straight after a wash someone has asked me "what do you wash your hair with?" Because it looks so soft and clean.
We don't need to buy their shitty chemical products folks, power to the people, bicarb is the answer!

Thank you for sharing. My son is try planting and his hands are all cracked at the cuticles so I am going to share this trick with baking soda with him, and love the hair idea. I have baby fine hair that is brittle so I am going to try this tonight and let you know how it all worked out. Thanks for sharing.

Aah very nice! Yes please let me know if it worked.

To expand on your first bullet point - I just learned today that if you or your pet ever gets sprayed by a skunk, douse yourself in baking soda to work the odor off ya ! Hope this helps !!

Yess I will use your tip, if I ever meet a skunk.. 🤗

Informative, thank you ilonavnijnatten
