Some Best Things in Life are FREE! =)

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Kids in my childhood were used to find ways to have fun and make do of what we have. Such contentment of little things are indeed priceless.

A couple of months ago, I wrote about my childhood memories: Looking Back In My Childhood Moments. I think this will be a part 2 of that article =)

We don't really buy toys because we often get some for free! =)

I could still remember myself collecting Coca-cola caps in exchange for these awesome freebies!

We really enjoyed trading these POG slammers in school.

Here's a well-known classic Filipino candy called Bobot. It's a sweet sugar coated peanut candy that comes with many colors. It's not really as fancy as the candies we have in the present but this sweet treat have got the hearts of many Filipino kids in the 80's and 90's. One more thing that made it popular is that it comes with a free fancy golden ring.  It cost only 25 ¢ Php then you get 3 candies and a ring =)

Even boys buy this candy too, then share the candy and give the ring to the girl which is kind of sweet thing in the old days. At present, it seems some boys just get all the candy and ran away lol! :-P

Getting delightful surprise toys from sweet treats always fill our child-hearts with joy. I love chocolates as always, I think everyone does! There's this milk chocolate that I really love and enjoy even until this time — The Kinder Surprise Egg and also Kinder Joy.  The last time I had this sweet treat, I got a cute Hello Kitty crayon with my milk chocolate fudge. It was really super yummy. That really made my day too! =)

Kinder Egg candies are kind of famous in many countries all over the world and many kids really enjoyed these treats. Unfortunately, it was banned in some western countries due to reported incidents of kids choking of the small toy with the candy. I wonder what will happen to kids growing up exposed to violent war video games? Well I won't go further with that, bottomline here, is all about responsible parenting.

There's actually more sweet treats to add here but this would be all for now. I hope you find something with what I've shared or somehow made your day!

Happiness comes from little sweet things too!

I'd also like to give credit to my friend @solarguy for giving me the idea of writing this blog after reading his recent post. He's indeed the sweet tooth panda of Dalian! =) You can also check out his post here:
