Familiarity and its fluff
As relationships grow, one thing that naturally develops is familiarity. Familiarity is a sign that one is relaxed with you, has leant to trust you, and can be vulnerable to you without holding back. Familiarities develop in the course of everyday relationship. It comes with more awareness of the other person’s secret, weaknesses, challenges, failures, etc.
One sure way to destroy relationships is to misunderstand familiarity. Sometimes, because we have become familiar with people, we begin to take them for granted or treat them with dishonor. One sad thing about familiarity is that when it is mishandled, people may be forced to keep others at arm’s length.
If they can’t handle your gift of FAMILIARITY to them, they will learn the lesson of your DISTANCE from them. Familiarity is not the same as equality; and it may disintegrate relationships when one party contrives to view it as equality.
In any relationship you keep, do not allow a person’s value or worth drop before your eye. The depth of honour and respect has to be upheld in every relationship. Treat your friends, colleagues, partner, boss, children siblings’ wit honour and respect.
Familiarity doesn't understands the language of honour. It tends to reduce the standard of honour; by giving other frequent excuses to dishonor them. If you desire to keep a lasting relationship with people be careful not to mishandle you familiarity with them. Your familiarity with people should be viewed as a gift to you.
