Now that you've made your delicious batch of kimchi (See the links for Parts 1 & 2 below), it's time to serve it up and eat it.

In Korea, kimchi is eaten at every meal. Yes this includes breakfast too! It's an excellent digestive aid. It's usually consumed as a side dish, more like a condiment rather than the main course.

If you're a kimchi addict, a little dab probably won't do ya. Just remember that hot pepper does contain addictive compounds. So the more you eat, the more you're going to want. No judgement here. I've been known to consume a half a jar in a sitting when I know I don't have to be around others who might not enjoy the lingering garlic aroma in my aura.

The simpliest way to eat kimchi is with rice. So boil up a pot of rice and enjoy!

Of course, kimchi goes with any Korean dish. It's especially good with beef dishes, like bulgogi. Bulgogi is spicy, grilled beef.

You can also add it to soup. However, the heat from the soup will probably kill the live cultures. But that doesn't keep the kimchi from adding a tangy punch to your broth.

Some other non-conventional ideas for serving kimichi...

Try it as a side dish with scrambled eggs

Mix it with cooked greens like mustard or collard greens to season them in a different way

Put it in tacos to add an extra punch of spice. Korean tacos have become popular in the US.

Do you have any other ideas for serving and eating kimichi? I'd love to hear them.

I've never tried kimchi but your meal looks beautiful plated.

@debralee if you're new to spice, go easy. Eat it as a condiment.
