It's really nice to see this post talking about integrating pets as members of the family. I also think that your daughter is going to have a "leg up" in life, having learned empathy from a young age....and if she goes to school and someone dares her to eat cat food she can just say "Yeah, no big deal. Went there, did that, got the tee-shirt"
