I think this is super true! At least where we are from the bar/club scene is disappearing more and more and pubs are making a strong resurgence. For us working in the bar industry we love it, means that there are more conversations and less trying to hear people over house music.

I agree being in the bar industry myself... I have worked at some of the loudest damn clubs on the planet. Today in NYC clubs have been "zoned out" making it almost impossible to open one. The problem with finding a good pub is, they are being priced out by the super high rents here in NYC. Once that long lease that they have held for years is up -- they are out. It's sad when a good pub closes, the whole community suffers... CHEERS!

I think you hit on a really good point there with the super high rent. Even in Edmonton, Alberta rents are outrageous for those properties. What has started here is the chain "pubs" taking over that don't have the character or the meeting place vibe. Cheers!
