The Challenges We All Face

In a strange world that is made with love but filled with hate, greed, lust, selfishness, kindness, trust, understanding, and respect—is where you can find these complicated creatures that are called humans.

Humans as what I said, is pretty complicated. They are governed by this simple word that can be viewed in many aspects and it is called life.

Because of this word, they can make someone else become its entire definition. They can become whoever and whatever they want.

They are wanderers by nature. They can climb the perilous mountains, swim the deepest sea, and fly the highest heights in order to find the compass of life which is called PURPOSE.

But finding purpose in life is never an easy thing. Some are lucky enough to find it at an early age. But for some, they need to spend their entire lifetime miserably searching for it. And up until they took their last breath, they still find nothing.

It’s because they have a shallow understanding of this another word which is the fuel in finding the purpose and it is known as PASSION.

Passion is doing something you truly love and care. But how can you know what you’re passionate about?

Tip #1: You can run from it but you can never escape it.

Remember those days when you’re still an innocent kid? Those moments where you dreamed what you wanted to become when you grow up.

When you…

• Used to write stories about slaying a dragon, being a superhero, or being hunted by a monster because you wanted to become a writer.
• Used to draw everything you can see and think of because you wanted to be an artist.
• Used to talk to yourself in front of the mirror and acted like you are in a boardroom because you wanted to work in a Fortune 500 company.
• Used to capture moments using a camera or … you use your hands and imagine you’re holding a camera then you make a “click” sound if you’re a kid who grew up with broke parents because you want to become a photographer.

And voila, you entered college and decided to pursue a different career.

Whatever your reason is, whatever you’ve become… there is still a part of you that you wished you’ve pursued what you wanted. Because that is what you love.

Tip #2: You’re sometimes good at it but oftentimes you suck at it.

Here are a few examples.

• Your written articles have been rejected for a thousand times but you’re still writing.
• You tried to sell your art but nobody bought it. But still, you continue to draw.
• You get to present your ideas in front of your board members but you can’t always get their approval, but you still try to think more.
• People couldn’t appreciate what you’re trying to tell in your photographs but you still keep on clicking.

And…

Tip #3: No matter how much you suck at it, you’re still doing it.

Because that is love, right?

Without passion, you are lost. You will never have the drive to do something for yourself. Without it, you will do the things that don’t mean much to you. Those type of things that will not help you become a better version of you.

You will be bounded to do a certain job over and over again without feeling happy and contented. Even though you become successful in what you are doing, but deep inside, you know you are not meant to do this thing.

But what’s keeping you to continue doing it is because of another word termed as FEAR.

Well, who doesn’t know fear? Everyone knows it well. Fear can make you become a prison of yourself. You will deprive yourself of taking risks or chances because you are afraid to do something new.

You are afraid of judgment, of failure, of disappointment, and of rejection. These are the things that stop you into becoming who you really are. You know what you should be doing in your life but lingering with fear is what paralyzes you.

You can overcome fear if you can shut all those negative thoughts and voices you heard. And if you have this another word which is called COURAGE.

Courage is what crashes fear. It is your weapon against your ghosts and demons that are taking up your soul. It helps you break out of your self-made prison.

But just like inspiration, having courage is like a seasonal event. You can’t have it every day. Oftentimes, it will abandon you. But when it struck you, it won’t leave you until you do the things that are needed to be done.

Courage is an important tool in finding yourself. With courage, you can follow your passion. You can do what you love to do and you can be whom you wanted to be. And if you have a passion, you now have a purpose. And if you know your purpose, you can live a meaningful life. And that will make you a better human being.
