What are various levers of well-being at work

in #lifelast month

It is true that we frequently discuss workplace well-being at the same time as we discuss burnout and boredom.

The Technologia source states that 3.2 million workers, or 12.6% of the workforce, suffer from burnout. It's really huge!

This same source states that women are impacted at a rate of 21% compared to men's 11%.

Indeed, there is a growing conversation around workplace well-being as a result of the high costs that businesses bear from employee absenteeism, sick absence, and stress.

We attempt to enhance living circumstances at work in this burnout-prone environment, and businesses utilise a variety of strategies to help workers feel better.

Research on this topic indicates that eight well-being levers are in operation:

1 Significance and piqued curiosity

2 The atmosphere and interpersonal connections

3 Acknowledgment and comments

4 fair methods for/lost

5 Leadership and Management

6 Payment and terms

Seven Skills and Education

8 Independence and power

These levers are all significant. While it is uncommon for all of these requirements to be satisfied, you are not far from workplace well-being if at least half of them are.

Here are some specific instances that certain businesses are putting into practice, along with the advantages offered to staff members:

Sports: they are a reflection of the times. Nowadays, a lot of businesses provide on-site sporting events for their staff. By enabling workers to enter a state of relaxation and preserving valuable personal time that would otherwise be spent at the gym, the goal is to pull levers no. 2 and 4.

  • Teleworking: two levers are activated on this item. Eighth, "Autonomy and Influence," and fourth, "Balancing Professional and Personal Lives." In fact, allowing employees to work from home demonstrates your confidence in their independence.

By eliminating time spent travelling and stuck in traffic, this also enables them to be more productive. They can also spend a little more time with their families, arrange their days in a new way, and experience less stress.

  • Seminar organisation: this promotes more cordial interactions amongst teams, which supports lever no. 2, "Climate and relations." Lever No. 3, "Recognition and feedback," can also benefit from seminars because they enable employers to commend staff members for their hard work and dedication by providing them with fun activities.
  • Training: it makes a significant contribution to "Talents and learning," lever no. 7. It gives you new information, enables you to advance, and lets you escape your regular schedule.

By enabling managers to develop their abilities to work with staff members more effectively after training, it also activates lever number five. Additionally, it can activate lever n°1 by providing the daily duties a fresh lease on life and significance.

Training is a fairly easy tool to use and a very successful one. especially since a wide range of concerns can be addressed through training.

With a similar objective for the business and employees: advancement, it enables you to bring teams together, give your work meaning, question yourself, feel heard and acknowledged, communicate more effectively, and question yourself!
