Can personal crisis help us focus on achieving our goals? Can the crisis itself provide additional emotional power to help us accomplish our life-goals?

If you could look back on your life from ten years in the future, can you imagine a way or means that by going through today's crisis, it became an opportunity to accomplish your larger objectives?

Sometimes the crisis seems so overwhelming, is hard to imagine it could become a seed for future greatness... especially while being absorbed by the feelings that can come along with extreme stress that some crisis events evoke.

Thoughts Effect Reality

If you have come to the understanding that thoughts have a profound effect on your personal reality, and it is difficult, if not impossible to think of positive future possibilities while mired in negative feelings like fear, unworthiness, guilt, remorse and unworthiness - then you also understand that effort must be applied in order to reach for better feeling thoughts where solutions my be found.

But the thinking brain is not enough to overcome the thinking brain.  Instead, for a time, we must focus attention on the sensing part of our brains in order to cultivate feelings of calm, peace and connection - before we re-engage the wonderful logical, thinking parts of our brain.

Writing this truth does not make it so. Speaking this truth does not make it so... those are both a means of using the thinking brain to overcome the thinking brain. In fact - reading about this truth can only serve as a reminder that a different strategy is required.

If we are to picture a way our crisis my help us take a step toward accomplishing our larger goals, we must step outside and away from the feelings that the crisis has created - and imagine options from a different feeling-state.
