Everyone aspires to happiness and it somehow eludes...............
There is no person who is not in moments of weakness over questions about the meaning: what do I do; Why do I live so miserably in all my efforts for a better life, why everything that I do breaks down; What is the point of my efforts and how do I go forward? We see how the years fly, how our acquaintances one by one go from this world, our moment may come, and we do not know why we lived and what will remain of us.
Thank God these moments are there! These "moments of weakness," in which humanity is truly in our greatest power when the divine spark in us speaks, shakes us to awaken us from sleep, from the unreality of life we lead. But what do we do? We run from this inner voice, from the questions that reveal the futility of our days and our efforts. We're looking for new engagements, we're doing something, we're in a hurry, we're shy ... we're afraid to stop for a second, so we do not get the issues that horrify us.
We are most afraid of the silence, because in silence, "the annoying questions" overwhelm us. While we work as we travel while we are resting ... something must be done: a TV set, a cassette recorder, a radio - everything must drive away the silence that drives us crazy. But no matter how much we try to escape, questions about meaning will overtake us again and again.
How do we understand our lives?
How do we use the time, the powers, the abilities that are given to us? What are we pursuing?
Money may be the meaning of life. Money that is never "enough". Millions to accumulate, you still can not say "enough," to feel happy and happy.
Others pursue glory and fame, but it is so uncertain and transient! Someone overshadows them, somebody envies them, something eludes them, something is not enough for them ... and instead of receiving happiness and happiness, they are depressed.
Power? No man lived on earth has achieved such power that he would not want greater.
For others, the meaning of life is in pleasure, but soon they fall victim to the "paradox" that the more morally you become, the more devastated by your lusts you find yourself.
The most reasonable people see the meaning in the family, in the children, in the friends, until they leave their lives, treating themselves and their meaning.
And in the greatest happiness is suffering, because happiness is over.
Everything is interdependent and interconnected. Everything is a cause and a consequence. Every thought, word and action determine the future, what is happening now is the result of our past thoughts, words and actions. Full responsibility. The cacti of which we sometimes sit alone have settled them.
Everyone aspires to happiness and it somehow eludes.
Wrath, pride, jealousy, desire and ignorance appear every day in different combinations in our minds. We think, say and do things that are unpleasant and painful for others. And we create reasons for the same to happen to us. Vicious circle.
Everyone has the potential to be happy at any moment in their lives.

patelicho - what a profound philosophical post! I like your statement about no one liking silence. Also - I agree that we all have potential to be happy. We must decide to make it so thats all. I remember a sign that I had seen hanging in one of my colleagues cubicle which said "Only I have the right to spoil my own day" - I liked it very much - it meant - we should let no one or nothing else spoil our happiness! Somehow it is even not every time make us happy !
At the end of day, we all are left with ourself only, and sometime really trigger that union but many of us don't like to live with our self but moment of despair force us to be with ourself again
