Taking care of yourself

in #life21 days ago

Sometimes taking care of yourself is seen as distancing yourself from people, places, or activities, even if that's not really what you want to do at that moment.

Although I don't like to label things as “good” or “bad,” leaving it is not always wrong or harmful. Sometimes it's the best thing we can do for ourselves. I mention this because therapy, for example, involves a careful dance between exposure, stepping outside your comfort zone a little, and protecting yourself along the way. Protecting yourself can be seen as setting boundaries or requesting distance.

This can be annoying for other people, even for ourselves, but if we request it, it's because something wasn't right, and that, which could be considered “intuition,” will also be important to listen to and consider.
