In the Middle Ages only representatives of privileged classes went out to fight the bulls, the knight appeared on horseback riding a horse and in a fight with an angry animal tried to show his skill and courage. But at the beginning of the 18th century the French throne was joined by the Frenchman Philip V, who declared the bullfight a savagery and senseless cruelty.
