Learning and study strategies differ in their focus. A learning strategy uses higher-level thinking behaviors such as decision making self motivation and self monitoring. On the other hand a study strategy or an ordered series for steps that requires limited use of higher order thinking skills. For example proofreading is a study strategy. As such it requires us to check whether we have correct spelling punctuation marks and other mechanics of writing. • Efficient Use of Time. We all agreed that time is important part of everyday activities. Time spent cannot be regain anymore. From this end we can see that on top of various learning strategies making efficient use of time.
Efficient use of time is related to goal setting at the outset of the semester. We must develop long term, short term, and immediate goals.
Long-term -term goals: to scope for upward movement as we utilize our potentials in the discharge of our duties and responsibilities.
Short-term goals: to devote time to our studies, attending class regularly; complete our assignments on time; submit scholarly works project reflective of our critical divergent thinking.

Managing time calls for self-control and self-discipline. At this point let us ask ourselves. How much can we get done in a day? We might be interested to know the amount of works we accomplish for each day. Usually we are surprised to know that we can do more than what we think we can. To manage time wisely we need to consider the following:

Prioritizing. Our days are beset with various types of work that need our attention. There are times when some of our assignments are due the following week while others due the following month. So what are we going to accomplish first? Without a second thought, we shall accomplish the ones that need immediate attention. This process is called prioritizing. If our task are due the following month, sometimes, we put them aside for a while and concentrate on the task that need immediate concern. Putting things aside should not be confused with putting things off. When we put things off, it is already a form of procastination and such word has no place in effective time management.
To do list. As the word suggests, it is a list that guide us what to accomplish for certain day. With the use of a notebook or an organizer, we list down all the things we should do for a particular day. We list them in order of priority by simply putting an asterisk before each task. Of they are bulleted or with asterisk, we are sure that they are high priority items. Then, towards the latter part of the day, we check what we have accomplished. If we fail, we carry them over the next day. We should begin with the most challenging task and move down to the easiest ones. This will give us a feeling of satisfaction specially if we have becomes successful in accomplishing them.
Scheduling. Now that we have prioritizied tje different tasks ahead of us, it is important to schedule or set a definite time for each task. For instance, how much time is needed to finish the first task? We determine the amout of time needed for each task depending on its nature and complexity. It is advisable that we begin with the most challenging or complicated task because our energy level and motivation level is very high at the start of the day.
