Perspective on life
I like to have a curious perspective on life.
That doesn't mean that overnight I lost the capacity for analysis, judgment, or comparison, so natural to the human mind. Rather, I train myself to bring my mind back to the present, and to be there with openness and willingness, beyond prejudice, labels, or better/worse comparisons.
Because the comparative mind is only useful if I'm reviewing articles and trying to find out which one is the most recent, which is the shortest therapy for a problem, or which type of intervention was statistically "best." But when it comes to bodies, lives, stories, even pain, the comparative mind doesn't help me much; quite the opposite. And there, I find it preferable to just be open and connected to what's happening, inside and outside my skin.
