Courage > Confidence
I think we mix up courage and confidence.
People always say “be confident” when someone starts something new.
But I think we forget that confidence comes from repeatedly doing something. It comes with practice. It’s the idea that you’ve already been here and you know what you are doing. It takes time. You have to put in the hours to become confident.
On the other hand, courage is about taking the first step. Leaving your comfort zone. Going places you’ve never been before. Doing something that scares you.
You don’t need any special talent or skill to be courageous. You just need to have the tenacity to start.
So be courageous. Worry about confidence later.
Have the courage to start that business you’ve been thinking of, or begin writing, or start exercising, or whatever you want to do in your life.
Just take the first step.
