2 Collisions In One Week - Maybe Shes Telling Me Something

in #life8 years ago

My poor car has had 2 collisions in one week. The first one was front bumper (the lady admitted to not paying attention). I wasn't driving - the thing didn't look bad.

Then today my wife was parked at work - some delivery driver backs up - and crunch - takes out the back half of the car.

The problem is - this car is my "beater". Its the one I move stuff around with. I own it - I pay for gas and insurance - it owes me nothing. The problem is - when your car loses its value over the years and you get hit - they don't replace the car - they give you a check for few grand.

I really don't want to shop for new cars - but I think my she might be trying to tell me something.

If your driving Herbie let us know as maybe you now have a buyer. :) I was just watching Herbie videos with my 3 yr old. We were watching the Bull Fight scene where he is called Ocho (5+3).

I have a 2004 Honda Odyssey. Has almost 300k miles on it and I refuse to get rid of it. It's odd the others in the house almost make fun of it but they have had cars that broke down and always end up asking to borrow it. I get a little jealous when others drive it because I still love it for putting real estate signs in and putting kayaks on top or bikes in the back. I love my faithful van.

Mine is a van as well.. most useful vehicle on earth.. oil, gas and insurance is all it needs from me. Turns out theyre replacing the back gate.. hopefully I will get a few years out of it!

I wondered if anyone would pick up on the Herbie reference..

If you love that car and have some stories with it, you still can fix it and make it better.
If not, get a new one if you can.
Cheers

Sorry to hear that - but it sounds like your car may be beyond the point where fixing it makes any sense.

Things that make you go hmmmmm.
Well, at least your listening to the wind.
