It's okay even the most conscientious of folk have dumb-ass moments XD Yay for getting it back! I like to think most people are actually honest but we have a really skewed perspective of how many jerks there are in the world because reporting on shocking terrible things is much more satisfying somehow than reporting on awesomeness.
