The Circle Of Life! Based on a True Life Story
Little Johny was lively and playful, he would play around in the neighbourhood once he's back from school every day. They lived in the boys quarters of a big estate as his dad, Mr Akpan Bassy was the driver of the owner of the estate. His mom sold oranges in the evening around the estate and in the morning she makes pap and akara by the roadside just outside the compound where she sells to school children and passers-by.
One Saturday morning little Johny was playing at a neighbours front yard and being toddler of just about 4 and a half years, pooed just outside the neighbour's house. Mr Abel who was sitting inside the protected front yard immediately got off his chair.
"Where are the parents of this little rascal?" He exclaimed. Dragging little Johny to the spot with his left hand with the right firmly gripping the newspaper he was reading, he said "now use your hands to pack this shit off my yard, why do you always have to come and play here?"
Little Johny was crying, calling out for his mom as he used his tender little hands to take the poop off the sandy ground, soon his mom woke up from sleep as neighbours gathered to see the incident with a few of them murmuring bellow their breath saying "why is Mr Abel this cruel, Johny is just a little boy and doesn't even know his left from his right, is it because he doesn't have a child of his own? That's a terrible way to treat someone else's child."
Mr Bassy came home in the evening after having a very hectic day driving his boss around town. His boss had been visiting friends and associates to tell them of his intentions to run for a local government chairman in the forthcoming elections. On getting home, neighbours broke the news of what transpired with his son and Mr Abel. In rage and deep anger, he went straight to Mr Abel's house where they almost had a fight...a scenario that landed Mr Bassy in Police custody till Monday the following week.
Years passed by and little Johny became a man, his dad had died two years after the incident so his mom had to see him through school all by herself. He was working in the state civil service as a secretary to the director.
He was running checks on some files before sending them to his boss when he saw a name that rang a bell in his head, he thought for a moment and said to himself "isn't this the name of the man always spoke to me about? The man that made me pack me poop with my bare hands?" His mom never stopped reminding him of a certain man that caused them all sorts of troubles as a result of that incident.
"Even if this isn't the same person I'll just take off this file" Johny thought to himself. A few weeks later Johny came to the office and met an angry man, as he drew closer he heard the content man saying " I have submitted more than 5 copies of my retirement documents in this office so I can get my retirement benefits but every time you people keep saying you've not seen my documents." When Johny heard this he drew closer to the man and asked him into his office. Of course, Johny was just a boy so he didn't recall Mr Abel's face.
"Please take a seat", Johny said to Mr Abel as they entered the office. "im sorry about what has happened sir," Johny continued, "Did you at any time in your life live in Mr Suoyo's estate in Port Harcourt?"
"Yes, I did, why do you ask?" Mr Abel replied.
"I used to live there with my parents many years ago, Mr and Mrs Akpan Bassy. I am their little boy, Johny" said Johny. "I removed your files after seeing your name on them, I needed to see you face to face once again so you can realise how it feels like to be maltreated, how it feels like to be cruel." Johny said these words as tears rolled down his eyes. With his face covered in shame, Mr able uttered these words "i am deeply sorry my son, please find a way in your heart to forgive me for all I did to you and your family."
"I forgave you many years ago, I am glad I saw you, I will make sure your documents are forwarded straight away. Life is a circle and we are going round it, whatever we do to others, someone else will definitely do to us. I am sorry for causing you pain by holding unto your papers and delaying benefits, please take this token for your transportation back home."

If it were to be some of us, maybe we wouldn't even say a word, we'll just keep throwing the files away till forever lol. Like our lecturers do to girls who don't agree with their govt.
