Keeping For Future
Everything (money included) that comes to you should not be spent on the immediate needs, there should be a provision for the future. Trust me, emergencies do not announce themselves before they arrive, so you need to brace up for them. Consuming everything in the present is a mark of being myopic. No one knows what exactly tomorrow will bring and if you are not prepared for it, unforseen emergencies may outweigh you.

The future favours those that have prepared for it. One way to prepare for the future is to make provisions for tomorrow's expenses. For salary earners, for example, you do not have to spend everything with the hopes that next month will come with its own salary. What if something happens and the salary ceases? The beauty of salary is when it is invested.
Any farmer that eats both his crops and his seeds because of hunger will become more hungry when the time of harvest comes because he will not have any farm produce to harvest. In the same way, anyone that eats his future today will become stranded in the future. Most times, the bane of saving is unwise spending.
Many people buy things that they do not need simply because others have bought them and they want to feel belonged. The truth is, if you buy something you do not need just to impress friends, very soon, you will have to sell the things you need just to survive. Do not allow yourself to become broke by trying to prove you are rich to people that do not even care about you. You don't need to prove if you are rich or broke to anyone. They have their lives to lead and so also you.
Each time you feel the need to do impulse buying, just ask yourself if this is really a need or a want. Do not sacrifice your needs on the altar of pursuing after your wants. Learn to prioritize your spendings and always make provision for investment and saving for the future.
