Learning to be Perfect

Perfection does not come automatically at the press of a button, there is a place for constant practice, learning and relearning to keep getting better. When you see someone that is very good at football for example (the likes of Messi and Ronaldo), what it means is that they have been constantly practicing to be better. No wonder the old saying goes:

Practice makes perfect

Yes we all believe that it takes practice for one to be perfect but the practice must be done rightly and in order. In other words, it is the perfect practice that will place someone on the path of perfection.

There is no doubt, the state of perfection may not have been attained, but there is enough room for improvement towards that. This is why it has been said that success should not be a destination but a continuous improvement on one's best. What you considered as best or perfect today may not even make it to the front door tomorrow. This is why you need to keep learning to get better.

Whatever highscore you attained in the time past, you can still beat it and set another record. Any success not improved or worked upon will gradually lose its value with time. Imagine if the airplane we have today is the exact same type invented by the Wright brothers, how will the face of aviation look like in this century?

The people that applauded and cheered you yesterday did so because of your achievement and if you refuse to update yourself, they may shift the attention to someone else tomorrow. Imagine if someone graduated from secondary school as the overall best student but did not go a step further into college, in the next few years, that achievement will become obsolete and will no longer be remember - so never get tired of updating yourself.

As long as life continues, then learning should not stop. Trust me, your past knowledge may not be sufficient enough to deal with the present challenge, so you need present knowledge to deal with them.
