Motivation, Not Comparison

Most people have mistaken "comparison" for "motivation", but it is worthy to note that both of them are entirely different and almost directly opposite to each other. Motivation may arise from drawing inspiration from someone else's success to achieve your own success, while comparison is to place someone else as a standard for yourself.

We all should realize that everyone is designed to fulfil a particular purpose and yours is very different from someone else. That is why it is unwise to compare yourself with others.

The other person you are comparing yourself with may have gotten to their destination but it does not mean you cannot get to yours. Remember this, when you stop at someone's destination point, you may become stranded.

Many people's frustration majorly arise from comparing people they feel have made it with themselves. Believe me, even some of the people you feel have made it still have their flip sides that you do not see. Most times, you only see their strength and not their weakness, and you will be quick to compare their visible strengths with your own weaknesses.

You were not escorted to earth by anyone, so you are not meant to be tied to anyone or compare yourself with them. It is very okay to be motivated by someone's success and attempt to replicate what they did in order to have the same result, but you should be mindful not to allow comparison to set in.

Successes may arise from imitating other people's success stories but definitely not from comparing yourself with them.
