Humanitarian brainstorming
I was interest for how our brain is acting in certain situations. How is the impulse generated, what follows it, or what does it follow? And it became interesting to me how the thinking apparatus works during drawing. Now let's see how the artist's brain works in the process of creation smth.
What do we need to create a drawing? The first is to plan the composition. Frontal lobes are planning that. You thinking about how to arrange composition on the picture, and activated frontal lobes. But they are also responsible for the motor functions, regulate emotions and control them, are engaged in the formation of mind. Often, for example, while drawing, we train the lobes, create new neural connections and upgrade our brain in this way.
In addition, in the process of creating a picture, a person concentrates, and this is not the last skill to be possessed. The prefrontal area of the frontal lobes corresponds to the ability to concentrate, as well as the behavioral functions. Violation of the work of this area of the cerebral cortex is observed in patients with schizophrenia. Therefore, we “loading” information in our brain, but in moderately, because moderation should be in everything.
And so, to draw, we need to use memory, even if we draw from life: we need to remember details to transfer them to our drawing. In this case, temporal lobes are involved, which also respond to the perception of information, speech recognition, learning ability, the combination of auditory and visual streams, harmonization of the emotional plan. By activating this part of the brain, we develop and improve its functionality in general.
In the process of creation, the artist has to perform a variety of movements, and the cerebellum, which is responsible for the coordination of movements and the tone of the extensor muscles, will help here. Accordingly: the more we train it, the more precise will be the fulfillment of the functions assigned to it.
The artist's brain must be able to accurately and quickly process visual information, fix proportions and their ratio, select the most suitable color scheme. Any line that you need to draw with a brush can be calculated mathematically (in theory, anyway). But the brain has already done it and produced the result, generating a corresponding impulse. Can you imagine what work is boiling in our brain?! This is how many neural chains are built, and the more complex the art, the more of them we have. It work like in a computer: formulas are clicked somewhere there, invisible to the regular user, and the screen displays the result. So happens in the brain of the artist, although, for the sake of justice, I must say that but not only him.
Finally, drawing is just for fun! If in the process of creation, you receive it, then the body produces the hormone dopamine, enhancing the positive emotion. All of this is starting to recordering in the annals of memory and requires repetition. That's how habits and hobbies arise. By the way, dopamine takes part in the regulation of the sleep-wake cycle, in the processes of thinking and remembering. Another part of our brain, like the hypothalamus, is responsible for the pleasure. It, in turn, controls very important functions of our body: heart rhythm, blood pressure, thermoregulation, sexuality, thirst, hunger. So, a beneficial effect on him, will have the same beneficial effect on the whole body.
And for someone, drawing is a way of active meditation, an attempt to distract from ordinary life. As, for example, for me. I like to draw some fantastic flowers. In the head, in the course of the process, there are no extraneous thoughts, except the concentration on art.
P.S. May be it’s not a masterpiece but for my pleasure.
