Steemians it's been a while since I've posted! Things have gotten pretty hectic since my last post November but I have big news that I'm excited to share! In partnership with Siemens Stiftung, I will be moving to the Philippines to teach technical design and engineering skills to young staff at an NGO, who specialise in developing and building sustainable basic amenities for the local community, such as ram pumps and distilling stations. I'm very excited to start this new journey and best of all, I'll have some time to document this experience and share it with all you guys! Hooray! In the meantime, I'll share some of my photos/edits I've worked on for the last couple of months and see you guys soon!

Good for you, it's more fun in the Philippines!

Sakto! I agree and I can't wait to go back :)

I love seeing images like this. I used to move around more and feel I am missing out on so much until I work more travel opportunity into my life again.

So Siemens has grown to be involved in so many things. One of the best friends I have had was employed by this company in Germany, while living in my city in the US until he was called back home to work a different project. It was hard to see him go. He was surrounded by a large family of friends. I think that would make for a difficult move back home but to experience a range of cultures - would be priceless I think.

I agree, it's always nice to have home comforts but experiencing new environments, cultures, foods, and people is always exciting. I know some people hate change but too much of a good thing can get a bit tiresome. All the best, I hope you get the opportunity to weave travel into your life again. I can't see myself stopping travel for a while!

Welcome back! And good luck! Are you a water engineer?

Thank you, it's great to be back! I'm actually a structural engineer, working mostly in railways and bridges. But Siemens approached me asking if I would volunteer abroad teaching CAD/drone survey skills to some grassroots staff - and I jumped at the chance! Hope you're well, fella.

That's an amazing opportunity - enjoy! I ask as I am a hydrologist/river engineer myself (and do drone surveys). Nice to meet/see others that have a similar profession/engineers. I hope to drone in the Philippines too some day!
