You will never know unless you try

I’ve been pushing hard lately. Harder than I’ve ever pushed my body. I’m doing four workouts a week followed by four intense mini workouts that target my weaknesses. Because this has been going well, I decided in class to scale up (CrossFit movements are nearly infinitely scalable which is why an injury-prone person like myself can stay at it).

Usually, I scale down to the lowest option in every area of a workout. Today I scaled up in one movement and up twice in another movement. Without getting into too many details, let me say I wasn’t certain I could complete these movements together within the given time cap, but the only way to know was to try.

Okay, remember this:

That’s me completing 100 GHD sit-ups for @coachjj’s challenge. Because of that challenge I knew I could complete 60 sit-ups in a relatively small window. So when I looked at my workout and added up 75 total sit-ups, my friend and I high-fived and decided to both give it a go.

Friends, we were in over our heads. Especially me. I got almost all the way through my second round of sit-ups when my abs quit. They gave me a solid nope and my coach had to help me go upright so I could hop off the machine and complete my sit-ups on the floor.

I didn’t finish all my reps in the 10 minute time cap, but I did get 2/3 of the way through a workout that would have been a challenge for me to complete at the most simplified level even six months ago. Had I scaled down, I would have blown through the work and set a personal record. Having not scaled down, I did more than I knew was possible and set a personal record.

I’m glad I choose to challenge my body. This is enormous growth for me mentally. And think about it—this shift happened because I decided to work around injury instead of waiting to heal.

Not only that, but I’ve figured out my new way of eating and am meeting my macronutrient goals. I’m feeling good.

Yay CrossFit! I'm not participating in the Open this year due to an injury, but my husband is. I am really looking forward to Friday when we have no kids on hand and we can celebrate post-18.5.

Well i am challenging myself daily to be better than the best people. When i see people do good, i pick up that challenge and want to do better than them.
The essence of my life now is to ensure that people around me are happy and not hungry

One other factor that is pulling me up in picking up challenge is Poverty
You may wonder why i said poverty.
Well, poverty has taught me not to be poor, i have being through alot and i have decided not to die poor, poverty has made me seek opportunities to be better and happy in life
