Rules of the Game
There is something I learnt about life in the last few days that is very disappointing and very demotivating.
That there is no justice on this earth. There is no retribution.
Imagine a person who has been doing unpleasant things all his life - lying, cheating, insulting and humiliating the people around him. Let's say in a family.
Such people, such aggressors, live well all their lives, they never receive any punishment for their actions, they are alive, healthy and well, happy, successful in their careers and lives, without a moment's hesitation that they are doing something wrong.
I know such people and I can say that what I am writing here is not in the realm of conjecture or fiction. Because I've watched it my whole life.
Such people never get what "they deserve" in our moral and human sense of these words.
At least not in this life.
Of course, we can reassure ourselves that they will get it in the next one.
But this is also not certain. And do you know why?
Because these people were sent here for this exact purpose. This is their role and they cannot be punished for playing their role. This is not part of the rules.
There is no way you can be punished for doing your job well. Right?
There is no logic in this.
Well, I know, seen from a certain, purely human point of view, there is no logic in life as a whole. No justice.
But if you look at it as a performance and look at the participants in it, you will understand that from the point of view of a performance, there is already logic here.
P.S. You already know my practice of writing about unpleasant things under the pictures of beautiful flowers.
This makes things lighter and more beautiful. Don't you think?

Soul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you. |
