Reasons You Should Stop Eating White Bread Right Away

in #life7 years ago

Human beings have been making bread throughout history. It was brown bread that used to be a significant and a healthy source of nutrition and people had a great reliance upon it. However, with the industrial revolution came the invention of white bread. The attractive advertisement that says how the fresh white bread is a perfect, healthy way to start your day is not true in reality. As a matter of fact, white bread is bad for you instead of being anything good.

The question is, that if white bread is so bad and brown bread so good for our health, why has the brown bread completely vanished and white bread has become common? The answer is simple, it’s the game of demand and supply. Brown bread doesn’t have a shelf life and it will become inedible very soon as it is conventionally made with whole grain which isn’t good for long shelf life, while the white bread without whole grain and filled with chemicals and preservatives have a long shelf life from the factory to the truck, to the store and then our dining tables. We can say that white bread is more of a better business model for the companies. It’s basically not good for us, it’s good for the companies.

With this being said, here are some of the reasons why you should stop eating white bread entirely and shift to brown bread :

  • The Taste Telltale
You may be fond of a particular bread brand’s taste. Have you noticed that all the bread brands have a stark difference in taste? Well, that’s because they don’t have a taste of their own. The taste we are familiar with is either the slight flavor of the yeast that is used or due to the additives that are put in it. Brown bread has a luring smell and taste of its own, while white bread is tasteless.
  • No Health Benefits
Unlike brown bread that actually have many great benefits to our gut and body health, white bread does not have any benefits to our health. No, it’s not helping your kids grow better or doing anything to improve your heart health.
  • Sugar levels
It can fluctuate our blood sugar levels greatly through the day, starting off with a spike initially and then drain down to the lowest as the time progresses. This can affect your productivity and mental abilities through the day. You can also end up feeling lethargic.
  • No Nutritional Value
The nutritional value of the white bread is basically squeezed out during the process of its making. You are not getting any significant energy from it and it’s only acting as a filler.
  • Can cause anxiety
Chemicals have mysterious impacts on our body, some that we can’t even imagine. Who would even doubt that the reason behind your stress could be the bread you eat every day? Studies have shown that the additives used in the breadmaking can make us feel bad and anxious.
  • Obesity
It can make you fat. Its pure lot of carbs you are taking in, which lets your body feed on it while storing all the excess fats in our body. It will also make you hungry quicker, making you feel like you need to eat more, which will ultimately contribute to a weight gain.
  • Diabetes
It can increase the risk of getting diabetes. The spiking and falling of sugar levels due to continuous use of it every single day can overload the cells with sugar, which becomes a challenge for the insulin produced in your body. The body’s dependency on high carbs also leads to an increase of a type of fat that creates a risk of diabetes.
  • Harmful Additives
While we consensually agree to the use of preservatives in some of our food items, do you think it’s a good idea to consume something full of harmful chemicals and preservatives every day as a primary source of your energy? The chemicals aren’t friendly to our body, nor nutritious. They are only put in there to make the bread’s shelf life long so that bacteria and fungus can’t eat on them. So, if it prevents bacteria and fungus to consume the bread, just imagine how much work your body and liver have to do in order to process and metabolize it.

Conclusion
With this information hopefully, you will understand why the white bread was invented in the first place and became dominant, while the brown bread vanished. It’s the same reason why most companies don’t make brown bread. The reasons we have described are sufficient for you to ditch the use of white bread and opt for alternative options. After all, it’s all about staying healthy and eating what’s best for us.

for some, white bread is actually easier to digest than brown bread. main thing is to eat bread with as few ingredients as possible. a true french baguette from a bakery using quality ingredients is always better than a loaf of wonder bread.
