Mcgyver Pipes #2: Rose Apples
The ability to create pipes out of creativity and your natural surroundings is a useful tool when traveling. When you're a spontaneous adventuring global citizen, accidents may occur with your papers or smoking utensils and that's exactly what happened to me when I traveled to Khao Kho in Phetchabun, Thailand with some of my wife's best friends.
During the first night's dinner at the resort, I managed to take back a chop stick and a rose apple with me. When I woke up early morning, I managed to successfully make and smoke from the rose apple.
Rose apples have very soft texture, almost opposite of a regular apple but the rose apple has enough hardiness to grip firmly. Take your thumb and measure what you're using to puncture the holes, such as pen, pencil, chopsticks. Measure it so when you puncture the hole it doesn't stick through to the other side. Using your thin stick like chopsticks or a thin Bic pen, puncture a hole to where you measured your thumb and pull it back out. Then from the top, puncture another hole furthest away from other punctured hole. When you puncture the second hole, make sure the 2 ends meet. The 2 ends must meet for you to be able to smoke. Put your herbs on the top hole and enjoy.
