Acquisitive

Do you easily acquire & retain ideas or information & have a strong desire to gain & possess? Are you excessively interested in acquiring money or material things?

If you answered yes then do you think there is anything wrong with this? Well I believe that we all have one life to live and some people just want more money and material things & work very hard for them so is this wrong? No I don't think so! As long as nobody gets hurt! I believe in the famous proverb

As you sow so shall you reap

After all the harder we work and the more we earn & have then the more we can help others in need not just with money but with inspiration, knowledge & wisdom which helped us achieve the money & material things!

It seems that in recent years many more people have become acquisitive by finding more comfort in material things &

losing sight of what is really important in life.

I know that I have become guilty of this in the past with the shallow feelings of materialism & sometimes the craving to purchase a brand new 'something' almost wins me over,

but then I am very quick to realize that I am much better off with investing my money into assets instead of spending it on luxuries which I don't really need!

Although, it is important to have the things which you need for your life & work

it is much more wiser that you find better use for your money.

The sad fact of life nowadays is that It can seem that we have become what we own & it no longer matters if you are just a good person or if you do things to help others, if you don't own a nice house & wear nice clothing

then you are not seen as being successful which all seems very silly if you look at it from afar,

& it is very easy to get caught up in acquisitive behavior if you let it get too close.

If you are financially educated and understand the differences between liabilities & assets and you also understand how to manage your money then you would think twice before spending your money on materialistic luxuries...

There is nothing wrong with owning nice things

& some people who are not as well off often forget this! You are not automatically a good person because you possess many things nor are you a bad person either.

Most people work very hard for their money & they should use it in ways that make them happy,

& I mean truly happy in who they are & not just by what they own.

Remember you gain much more happiness from life if you fill it with enjoyment instead of pleasure as pleasure is shortly lived whereas enjoyment is much more potent!

Acquisitive is formed from Latin acquirere which means to get in addition.
