Vivid Life along the Bangkok-Noi Canal, Thailand

In the old days, Bangkok-Noi Canal was an important transport of Thailand. Nowadays, there are many vivid things to see along the canal.

First of all, if you stand by the bank of the canal, you will feel refreshed….

If you look into the water, you will see plenty of big fish…. You can feed them with bread.

On the small narrow red bridge, you will see a lot of pigeons sitting there calmly.

Really vivid life that you can see along the canal!

In the meantime, people who live along the canal have simple life among peaceful atmosphere.

The most popular transportation for those people is “long tailed boat”. It’s more convenient and quicker than going by bus.

Special Note: In the last two pictures, you can see "King of Nagas " at the right of the pictures. We believe that this is the holy thing in Buddhist and it's usually concerned with temple.

(If you remember, "King of Nagas" appeared in the candal parade which is significant Buddhist Festivals, refer to my old post 5 days ago, https://steemit.com/art/@tangmo/beautiful-candle-festival-parades-in-ubon-ratchathani-province-in-the-nartheastern-of-thailand.)

p.s. These are pictures from my sister. I used to have an experience among the atmosphere like this, too!

I like that spot soooo much. You are so welcome my friend ;) Always

I'm really glad to know that! ;D

I like the canals, that would be fun to take a boat along them. Very peaceful, as you say. Do they pick you up in the long tail boat, like a bus? Do you pay like a bus? Very interesting. And I think the pigeons like the bread as much as the fishes ( :

Thanks so much! I'm happy to know that you like the canals, too!

It's fun sitting in the boat. Yes, it acts like a bus; while the bus driving on the road, the boat riding along the canal. You're right! We have to pay the transport fee like a bus. I would recommend you to try it if you visit Thailand....

Regarding the pigeons, I think so! I can see pigeons everywhere we feed the fish with the bread! ;)

I remember feeding the big carp from hand at those places on the dock. They would take the food and your finger right from your hand. Didn't hurt, just funny. Now I have another thing to see when I visit Thailand, the boat buses.

Oh! I can imagine! It seems to be really funny! Yes, you may include the boat buses in your planning lists to Thailand! ;)

The canals are like streets!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Yes, you're right! :)

Look at all of those big fish. Looks like the pigeons want the bread. I have never seen a "long tailed boat" before. Really enjoyed this with great pictures. :)

Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures! Yes, I think so, the pigeons would probably want the bread, too! You may try the "long tailed boat" if you visit Bangkok! ;)

If I am ever lucky enough to visit Bangkok, I will definitely try the "long tailed boat." Until then, you will have to tell me what it is like.

Beautiful place, I like the atmosphere in this place, so lovely :)

Nice article, Tangmo! I've been to Bangkok couple times, but didn't have a chance to visit the canals! I live in Phuket, we don't have much canals over here :)
