True Friend ?

I've often asked myself what makes a friend a true friend

and where did the word friend come from? I have grown older

since I first asked myself this question and I've had a few

good friends and some friends who where never my friends to

begin with.

The problem is I try to look for the good in people no matter

what and I've ended up getting hurt several times. My dad would

always say your heart is your weakness and I find that more true

each day. I believe a true friend should never expect you to do

something for them by asking over and over to do the same thing

that you've already done for them. I also believe a true friend should

listen to you as you have listen to them about their troubles and

life.

The crazy thing is I've listened to a lot of people's troubles about

their life and when I want to speak about mine they go silent. Some even

think I'm trying to compete with them. I have learned to never speak about

my life or problems with people like that again. I may just use this blog

to write about my life and what is bothering me.

But in reality the only friends you ever need is your family your wife and

kids your brothers or sisters etc because they are the ones who truly love

you.
