Type 1 diabetes is a disease that destroys all of a person’s cells that are responsible for producing insulin in the person’s pancreas. When the body becomes unable to adjust itself back to a normal blood sugar level then it becomes necessary to begin taking insulin daily to maintain life. Unfortunately, what causes type 1 diabetes is not yet known. However, it is generally believed that a person’s environment and genetics play a key role.

Those who have jobs that require them to travel or work various shifts and people who have others that they have to care for such as children or elderly relatives will have a harder time.

Self management is giving yourself your daily injections of insulin as needed. When deciding whether to use an insulin pump or not on the up side it is very small and it can be worn under clothing around the waist,. It is attached to a catheter that is implanted under their skin and then injects the patient with insulin around the clock in tiny amounts as needed. When it becomes time to remove the catheter device it is not a big deal the catheter can be taken out when it is time to refill it or reset for dosage changes it great for keeping your blood sugars within there limits. The pump is the most convenient option available for taking care of our health, as such, the pump is a very convenient option.
