RE: A dreadful accident

in #life7 years ago

From the outside it doesn't look that bad, I think I've personally been involved in worse accidents - but of course all of my family were wearing seat belts.

There was another accident in Russia, we just noticed it as the car involved was parked at the same garage as were we had service to our car. The accident in itself wasn't that bad, but there were two very bad impacts on the front window - where two heads had been hitting glass - again, very avoidable.

That said, I'm no fanatic when it comes to seat belt usage. I believe that in speed less than 40 km/h, its pretty moot to wear seatbelts.

I personally don’t feel comfortable to wear seatbelts. Inside the city where the traffic is high, it’s manageable. But in highway it’s really dangerous. Many thanks for your thoughts and sharing the experience.

Did you mean you're not comfortable not to wear seatbelts? At the highway it's quite important to wear them, I'd say.

In places with pedestrians, and particularly nearby schools, it would be better if seatbelts were forbidden for the driver, and if it was mandatory to have a big sharp lance protuding out of the steering wheel. Maybe that would teach drivers to slow down and drive carefully...

I have to wear. Specially, at highways I never miss that. Also, It’s a mandatory rule from my office to wear seatbelts. If I don’t wear, my car allocation will be cancelled :)
